Staff Mobility

Erasmus+ Training Mobility (Staff Mobility for Training – STT)

Erasmus+ supports training periods abroad for staff working in higher education institutions.
If you are employed by a higher education institution, you can take part in a training mobility period at a partner organisation abroad in order to improve your professional skills and competences.

The objective of training mobility is to:

  • support the professional development of academic and non-academic staff,
  • enhance staff competences relevant to their current role and career development,
  • promote the exchange of good practices and expertise,
  • strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and other organisations,
  • contribute to the internationalisation and modernisation of higher education institutions.

Training mobility can take place at a partner higher education institution or at any other relevant organisation (such as enterprises, public bodies, research institutes, NGOs or cultural organisations) active in education, training or related fields.

A training programme must be agreed in advance between the participant and the host organisation and is formalised through a Mobility Agreement for Training.

Key Characteristics of Erasmus+ Training Mobility

  • Short-term mobility (typically from 2 days up to 2 months, excluding travel)
  • Activities such as job shadowing, training courses, workshops or observation periods
  • Open to both academic and administrative staff
  • Requires a Mobility Agreement for Training
  • Financial support provided through Erasmus+ grants (travel + subsistence)
