Faculty Staff Gathering in Modrá
6. June 2024This year, the Faculty of Humanities staff meeting was held in an extraordinary location—the hotel at the Archeoskanzen Modrá in the Slovácko region.
After several years of COVID-related disruptions, which affected the organisation of traditional gatherings, the faculty opted to return to the off-site format. Finding a suitable venue for over 100 participants proved challenging, but the chosen location met all the requirements.
The hotel, situated at a reasonable distance from Zlín, was the perfect choice thanks to its attractive surroundings, excellent cuisine, and well-equipped facilities, which provided ideal conditions for a professional yet social event.
The meeting’s purpose extended beyond delivering updates about the faculty. Creating opportunities for informal conversations and idea-sharing among colleagues was equally important, making the right atmosphere a key factor.
The official part of the programme included presentations by the FHS management, who briefly presented to the staff a recapitulation of the past academic year 2022/23, the results of the management, the staff strategy, and the outlook for the next period.
After this part, the participants had a unique opportunity to explore the surrounding area. For those interested, a guided visit to the Basilica of the Virgin Mary and Saints Cyril and Methodius in Velehrad, coupled with an organ concert, was a welcome and interesting diversion that provided an unforgettable artistic and spiritual experience for all.
We believe the gathering was successful and met all expectations. The proven combination of a professional programme with cultural and social activities demonstrated that such events not only strengthen workplace relationships but also inspire future work.
