White Crayon
6. March 2023From 10 to 12 October 2022, the traditional White Crayon collection event took place. We are pleased to announce that this year, students from the 2nd year of the Social Pedagogy Bachelor’s programme once again participated in the annual fundraising campaign.
The students proudly represented the Institute of Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities, UTB in Zlín, demonstrating their commitment to supporting individuals with visual impairments and low vision. In the streets of Zlín and its surroundings, they offered the public the opportunity to purchase white pencils, with the proceeds going to the Czech Blind United Organisation (SONS ČR) and its branches. A total of 125,657 CZK was raised for the Zlín branch, contributing to the nationwide total of 3,956,908 CZK. The most successful duo from the Zlín branch were our students Veronika Brodzáková and Simona Mošťková, who managed to collect 17,151 CZK. As the topperforming team in our region, they received the “Best Contributors” award in Prague. A heartfelt thank you goes to these students and all other volunteers for their willingness to participate in the campaign and help individuals with disabilities.
