Interfaculty cooperation with FMK

The successful collaboration between two faculties, or rather two distinct departments, is exemplified by a new interdisciplinary partnership established this year between the Graphic Design Studio of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications (FMK) and the Institute of Healthcare Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities (FHS).

Students from the General Nursing (VO) programme created 21 professional informational materials as part of the Health Promotion – Health Literacy course, led by Dr. Pavla Kudlová and Dr. Petr Zemánek. On 12 April 2023, they presented their work to their peers in the first year of the Graphic Design programme, with the goal of jointly producing educational materials for printing and distribution.

At the joint meeting of both study programmes, eight selected works were introduced. These were given a graphic design under the expert guidance and supervision of MgA. Jana Dosoudilová.

According to the head of the Graphic Design Studio, Assoc. Prof. Pavel Noga, FMK students gained valuable practical experience in communicating with clients and finding compromises between professional content and design tailored to the target audience.

Both teams agreed to continue their collaboration.

The selected educational informational materials will be presented to representatives of the professional public on 26 October 2023 as part of the Faculty Student Conference, to which colleagues from the Graphic Design Studio are warmly invited. Should there be interest, these works may be implemented in healthcare facilities that wish to utilise them.
