Perioperative Care Day

On 23 September 2022, the Faculty of Humanities at UTB hosted the Perioperative Care Day conference, organised in collaboration with Tomas Bata Regional Hospital and the Institute of Healthcare Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities, UTB.

This was the first conference of its kind, welcoming 150 participants, including professionals from the field, perioperative nurses, surgical instrument technicians, general nurses, academic staff educating future healthcare professionals, students of non-medical healthcare programmes, and others interested in perioperative care.

As the conference’s professional guarantor, PhDr. Mgr. Pavla Kudlová, Ph.D., explained, “The aim was to familiarise the professional community with topics primarily focused on perioperative care, postoperative patient care, diagnostics in the preoperative period, sterilisation, and postoperative complications.”

The event’s opening ceremony featured notable guests, including Ing. Jan Hrdý, Director of KNTB a.s. Zlín, MUDr. Olga Sehnalová, MBA, Deputy Governor for Healthcare in the Zlín Region, and Mgr. Kamila Slabáková, Deputy for Nursing Care at KNTB a.s., who evaluated the event as a great success: “I’ve received positive feedback from Friday’s conference. Both the speakers and participants were very satisfied, with many already asking if this professional gathering will be held again next year.” https://www.kntb.cz/periopden

The conference papers were also used to create a collection of abstracts, which has already been made available on the websites of the FHS UTB in Zlín and the Regional Hospital T. Bata, a. s.
