Helena Kaňková is a lecturer and researcher who received her MA in English and French Philology at Palacký University in 2000 and her PhD at Palacký University in 2013 in Romance languages. Her dissertation was a paper on Cajun minority and its identity and language in contact with English.

She teaches a course in British Studies, a course in American Studies and a course in Practical English at Tomas Bata University, Zlin. Her current research focuses on British cultural studies, social class and educational attainment.
