Pre-graduate Preparation of Future Teachers at the Institute of School Pedagogy

From May this year, the Institute of School Pedagogy will run a three-year project submitted in accordance with the call for proposals of the Operational Programme Jan Amos Komenský No. 02_23_19. The project responds to the reform of pre-graduate training in the Czech Republic to prepare future teachers to educate children and pupils according to the principles of Strategy 2030+.

The main objective of the project is to innovate the conceptual framework of undergraduate preparation of future teachers of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools with an emphasis on permanent reflection of their own work. The fulfilment of the main objective will be supported by the development of accompanying teachers’ competences to improve the quality of teaching practice management, the development of academic staff’s professional competences for the education of future teachers, the development of their competences in line with the objectives of Strategy 2030+, and the creation of a functional network of cooperating schools with UTB as well as a functional network of departments involved in undergraduate education throughout the University.

Another project is the project of the International Visegrad Fund – Development Entrepreneurship Competencies Among Generation Alpha in Primary and Secondary Schools, which is implemented by the Institute of School Pedagogy in cooperation with the Faculty of Management and Economics. The aim of the project is to collect and organise experiences from primary schools in the Visegrad Group countries that integrate entrepreneurship education into their educational curriculum. The project is co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia from the International Visegrad Fund, whose mission is to develop the idea of sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe. The project aims to facilitate access to modern methodologies and educational tools, exchange experiences with other schools at international level, develop digital competences of teachers and learners, and strengthen the profile of the school as a leader in innovative education. Schools and teachers who actively participate in the pilot project will be given a unique opportunity to get involved in new projects in the field of entrepreneurship education of pupils, which the university plans to implement in the future.7

At the end of the project, an interactive online and skills for the 21st century latform will be created to enable teachers among pupils to effectively share their experiences in developing entrepreneurial competence.
