Radim Šíp graduated from the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University, a double combination of the Czech language and Civics (abs. 1998). He obtained a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University. from the field of philosophy (abs. 2006). The results of his doctoral thesis are available in the monograph: “Richard Rorty: Pragmatism between Language and Experience” (2008) and “Pragmatism and Deconstruction in Anglo-American Philosophy” (2010 – co-author). In 2015, he was appointed associate professor after defending his habilitation thesis ” Problematic Aspects of Contemporary Pedagogy from the Point of View of Philosophy of Education.” In his research, he focuses on theoretical and empirical research: a) pragmatism and pragmatist education, b) the theory of knowledge and its impact on contemporary educational trends, c) the development of the Czech school system and inclusion. All these areas intersect in the latest monograph: “Why Education and Its Actors Fail: Nationalism and Cognitive Landscapes” (2019). He and his team are currently researching the phenomenon of inclusion in Czech schools (“Roads to an inclusive school in the 21st century: an ethnographic approach” – (No. GA19 – 13038S).
