Student Scientific and Professional Activities
Student Scientific and Professional Activities, or Studentská vědecká a odborná činnost (SVOČ) represents one of the methods for supporting talented students. It is an important component of preparing a future candidate for work at university, helping a young researcher to gain a profile, and offering the opportunity for self-realisation within a scientific field, and it is also great preparation for writing and defending a bachelor’s or master’s thesis.
Principal SVOČ fields at FOH:
- pedagogy
- English and German philology
- paramedical fields
Students or groups of students of any year group studying for a bachelor’s or (follow-on) master’s degree, either full-time or part-time can take part.
To complete the project, they should produce a written report and defend it in front of an assessment committee on the basis of the opinions of the supervisor and an external examiner. This defence is public. The best students may be rewarded with a special grant.
We look forward to all those interested in producing a Student Scientific and Professional Activities report.
Academic Activities
On Thursday, 9 May 2024, the defence of the projects of the Student Scientific and Academic Activities at the Faculty of Humanities of the Tomas Bata University in Zlín in the field of Pedagogy took place.
The first prize was awarded to Lucie Machová, a 4th year student of Teaching for the 1st Level of Primary School with the topic The Concept of Verbal Evaluation of Pupils at the 1st Level of Primary School.
Second place was awarded to first-year Preschool Education student Bc. Klára Kociánová for her work on the topic The Role of Nursery School Teachers in Promoting Health and Preventing Chronic Illnesses in Children.
Congratulations to the participating students and thank you for joining the competition. Let the students be an inspiration for other potential candidates interested in developing a project within the framework of student scientific activities. This is a good opportunity to prepare for a research project for a bachelor’s or master’s thesis and also to receive a financial reward.
