“Development of Entrepreneurship Competencies Among Generation Alpha in Primary and Secondary Schools” Implemented by Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Faculty of Management and Economics with a working team from the Institute of Business Economics and the Department of School Education, Faculty of Humanities.
Duration 1. 10. 2023 – 28. 2. 2025
The project aims to collect and organize experiences from primary schools in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland that integrate entrepreneurship education into their educational curriculum. The project is co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to develop the idea of sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe. The project aims to strengthen:
access to modern methodologies and educational tools, the possibility of exchanging experiences with other schools at an international level, the development of digital competencies among teachers and students, strengthening the school’s profile as a leader in innovative education.
Schools and teachers who actively participate in the pilot project will be given a unique opportunity to participate in new projects in the field of entrepreneurial education of students that the university plans to implement in the future.
At the end of the project, an interactive online platform will be created that will allow teachers to effectively share experiences in developing entrepreneurial competence and skills for the 21st century among students.
As part of the implementation of the research project to support entrepreneurship among primary school students, personal visits were made in May and June 2024 to the Židlochovice Primary School, which is involved in the KaPoDaV Project – Support for Career Counseling, Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development and Further Education in the South Moravian Region (https://www.zszidlochovice.cz/administrativa/projekty-skoly/) and is an example of good practice in developing entrepreneurial competence. In the friendly environment of the school, an interview was conducted with teachers who conceptually support the components of entrepreneurial competence and very cooperatively described their experiences with the projects they implement with their pupils. Similarly inspiring was the meeting at the elementary school and kindergarten in Podomí (https://www.zspodomi.cz/zakladni-skola/podnikava-skola/), which received the Entrepreneurial School certificate and leads its students primarily to teamwork supporting the development of the school, building a stimulating environment or projects to develop students presentation skills.
The next phase of the research will be to obtain data from questionnaires from students, as well as to involve schools with an active approach to entrepreneurship or interest in this area. This project aims to obtain the widest possible group of elementary schools that will purposefully develop, share and create an environment supporting students’ entrepreneurship.
