Aneta Smetánková on winning the award for her bachelor thesis - During the 10th International Professional Conference on Biographical Care of the Elderly in Palliative Care, which took place on 11 December 2023 at the Prague City Hall, Bc. Aneta Smetánková for her bachelor thesis entitled The importance of biography in the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Student Conference of ÚZV - On 28 November 2023, a professional student conference focused on the creation of educational materials for both professional and general audiences took place at the faculty.
  • French Students’ Internship at KNTB - Regular internships and study placements abroad are valuable bonuses that can be utilised during university years. However, the Faculty of Humanities (FHS) not only organises trips for its own students and staff but also actively supports international students and colleagues seeking further opportunities for personal development and advanced study.
  • Zlín Perioperative Care Day - On 22 September 2023, the second conference on this topic was held in collaboration with Tomas Bata Regional Hospital in Zlín.
  • Family – Health – Disease - On Friday, 29.9.2023, the international scientific conference Family – Health – Disease took place in Krakow, Poland.
  • Health Day: What Do We Know About Living in the Dark? - “Could anything be worse than blindness? Oh yes… the most pitiable person is the one who has sight but no vision.” – Helen Keller
  • Accident Prone - “There’s not a month where I don’t find myself at the scene of an accident. I feel like a magnet for these accidents,” says Michaela Holíková, a second-year student in the General Nursing programme at our faculty.
  • Interfaculty cooperation with FMK - The successful collaboration between two faculties, or rather two distinct departments, is exemplified by a new interdisciplinary partnership established this year between the Graphic Design Studio of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications (FMK) and the Institute of Healthcare Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities (FHS).

  • Nurse 2022 – Where Are You Heading, Czech Nurse? - The professional conference with international participation, NURSE 2022 – Where Are You Heading, Czech Nurse?, held on 10 October 2022 in Zlín, was the result of collaboration between the Association of University-Educated Nurses (SVVS) and the Institute of Health Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities, Tomás Baťa University in Zlín (ÚZV FHS UTB in Zlín).
  • Perioperative Care Day - On 23 September 2022, the Faculty of Humanities at UTB hosted the Perioperative Care Day conference, organised in collaboration with Tomas Bata Regional Hospital and the Institute of Healthcare Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities, UTB.
  • Health and Social Care again Part of the Faculty of Humanities´ Studies - For the academic year 2022/23, FHS successfully renewed the accreditation for its Health and Social Care study programme, offered in both full-time and part-time forms.
  • Health Day for Children of UTB Employees - On 24 August 2022, the Institute of Health Sciences (ÚZV) at FHS UTB hosted the Health Day for Children of UTB Employees for the second time.
  • Collection for Those in Need in Ukraine - Ivo Mazal, a 1st year student of the General Nursing Combined Degree Programme, organised a much needed collection of ostomy aids for Ukraine.
  • SVOČ - In May the Faculty of Humanities hosted the defence of projects for the Student Scientific and Academic Activities (SVOČ) programme.   • Portrait – doc. MUDr. Jiří Gatěk, Ph.D. - Associate Professor Gatěk is a university lecturer at the Institute of Health Sciences at FHS, an internationally recognised specialist in oncosurgery and breast cancer, a traveller, and a recreational athlete.
  • Call centre - On 9 November 2021, the university launched a call centre at the request of the Regional Public Health Authority in Zlín.
  • Day for Health - On 26 August 2021, the Faculty of Humanities hosted Health Day, an event for the children of UTB employees aged 7 to 15.
  • Practical exams at the Department of Health Care Sciences - From 19 April to 30 April, the Department of Health Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities held practical examinations of students of the Bachelor’s degree programme Midwifery and Nursing.
  • Employee Testing for Covid-19 Led by ÚZV - Rather than life at the faculty, this contribution could be described as life at the university.   • Conference “Family – Health – Illness” at FHS - The “Family – Health – Illness” conference took place via videoconference on the rescheduled date of 19 November 2020.
  • Charity Events - At the end of the winter semester, the Faculty of Humanities (FHS) participated in two charitable activities – Christmas Rose (Christmas Star Against Leukaemia) and Christmas Collection (Silent Face project).
