The Education Support Centre (hereinafter referred to as the “Centre”) was established on the basis of Resolution No. 166/03 of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Humanities (FHS) on 29 June 2020. The primary mission of the Centre is to contribute to strengthening the role of FHS in the field of education in the Zlín Region as well as to establish links with regional educational institutions. The Centre focuses on close cooperation with secondary, primary and nursery schools as well as with medical and other health facilities. Another task of the Centre is the preparation and implementation of strategic and development projects in the field of education.
Core activities of the Centre:
- education of pedagogical staff (realization of international teacher exchanges and workshops for teachers)
- education of healthcare professionals (implementation of certification courses for healthcare professionals)
- development of all children, including pupils and students along with support for gifted and exceptionally gifted learners (realization of educational stays abroad for students; realization of events for learners, including conferences)
- basic and applied research in the field of education
- cooperation with entities at the regional level – schools and other learning institutions, recreational and leisure time institutions, non-profit organizations, the Czech School Inspectorate in Zlín, the National Pedagogical Institute of the Czech Republic (NPI), the Office of the Czech Department of Education, Youth and Sport in the Zlín Region, other institutions and employers, etc.
- involvement in regional activities in the field of education based on Local Action Plans for the Development of Education along with Local Action Groups
- involvement in national, regional and local partner networks
- concentration of regional professional activities related to the development of education and the introduction of national norms, standards and programmes to regional institutions, with FHS as the expert guarantor
- preparation and implementation of strategic projects
