About the Department
At the Department of Pedagogical Sciences, you can study social pedagogy at the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.
Social pedagogy has a very broad thematic scope. It primarily deals with the influence of the social environment on upbringing and education, while examining social aspects in the educational process. The study of social pedagogy will enable you to be knowledgeable in the pedagogical and social field, namely in various institutions and organizations of the state and non-state spheres. After graduation, you will be well informed about various social situations that can be the cause of problems for individuals, social groups and the relationships between them. Studying social pedagogy opens the door for you to work with all age categories.
The range of possibilities for application in practice is thus very wide. From working with children in schools, groups or school clubs, through counseling for adults or seniors to working in social service facilities, e.g. with people addicted to addictive substances or with people serving a prison sentence. You can pursue professions in state administration, self-government and the non-profit sector.
Children, youth, adults and seniors, they all sometimes need a helping hand. A social pedagogue is the one who offers it to them. Thoughts, words, but especially actions have great power. Let’s not be indifferent to people who don’t know what to do in life and need our help. Some people live in a bubble, they don’t see or don’t want to see the problems around us. That’s why it’s amazing that so many young people are realizing the importance of professions that help people in need.
Will you expand the ranks of those who are not indifferent to human destinies and have decided to help? You will be welcome.
